Alec

I marched to the central command post with Viktor next to me.

Tatia directed our men. As the master in tactical battle, she had briefed the head of each team on their tasks. She will monitor the battle from her post where she can access the men’s vitals and cameras around the compound and on everyone’s vests. Vik on the other hand, will be leading the men from the front.

Father was already at the roof, strengthening the defenses. I stayed next to Ti. I’d be informing her on the battle since I could sense all of the energies. I knew Gabby paced her room, her energy was intimately intertwined with mine; I sensed her every movement.

We reached the command post and Ti was already in front of the monitors.

“They will be here in less than fifteen minutes. They will surround us from all over, but most of them will converge from the west,” I told everyone on comms. We had telepathic abilities if we chose, but not everyone had the ability.

“Fuck!” I just realized what I had said and I telepathically connected to Ti, Viktor and Father. “They can sense her! They know her approximate vicinity!” I gripped the chair behind Ti.

Ti nodded her head and directed her best men to the west. I also felt my father doubling the defences there.

I turned towards the door, but Vik laid a hand on my arm to stop me. “Where are you going?”

I looked at him confused. “The west side,” I said, like it should be obvious.

He shook his head. “We need you next to Ti, so you can tell her where to direct the troops.”

“I’m your strongest fighter. We need to end this before it even begins!” I said with controlled patience.

Viktor and Ti looked at each other, I knew they were communicating. As mated couple, they were telepathically linked, which was different than connecting as they don’t need permission to connect, it’s automatic.

“I’ll go!” says Viktor. He gripped my shoulder. “We will end this and make sure no one will get through. I promise brother, on my life!” I nodded my head in embarrassment.

Of course, I was being irrational, this was the best tactic and I shouldn’t let emotions get involved. You don’t win battles with emotions, you win with your brain and skills.

I shot Ti with an apologetic smile and she squeezed my arm, which told me she understood.

I got back to feeling for everyone. “They will be here in five. Viktor, they will hit you first, but they will practically hit every angle simultaneously.”

I laid my hand on Ti to get her attention. She had eyes on the whole compound, every angle of the compound had a feed attached to the main camera and Ti had it up on the big screen. In front of her were several larger computer monitors with the statistical information of our men.

She gave me her full attention, “They brought a lot of fire wielders.” She nodded her head and spoke to her comm.“Shields to the front, water wielders back them up.
